Vice President Dr. Bawumia has made good his promise to support the reconstruction of the new Sempe Mantse palace in the Ga State.

This was after making a pledge to support the project during last year’s Homowo celebration by the chiefs and people of Sempe.

It came at a time when the Sempe stool was elevated to the status of paramountcy.

At a ceremony at the Sempe Traditional Council on Wednesday, former Mayor of Accra, Mohammed Nii Adjei Sowah presented an amount of GH¢50,000 to the Council on behalf of the Vice President.

Mr. Sowah, who is currently the Deputy Director of Research at the Presidency, made the cash presentation to the Sempe Mankralo, Nii Addo Abossey Bulley II, who received it on behalf of the Sempe Mantse, Nii Adote Otintor II.

He stressed Dr. Bawumia’s belief in strengthening the chieftaincy institution to help develop society since it is recognised by the country’s constitution.

He also stressed the need for chiefs and traditional authorities to complement government’s effort and initiatives towards the development of the nation.

He was accompanied by former First Vice Chairman of Ablekuma South NPP, Nii Lante Plange.

The Sempe Mankralo, on behalf of the Sempe Manste, expressed appreciation to the Vice President for keeping his word.

He thanked him for the gesture and extended their gratitude to President Akufo-Addo for his government’s support for the chieftaincy institution, especially the Ga State.

They offered prayers for President Akufo-Addo, Dr. Bawumia and the government.
