Bawumia Team Rubbishes Kennedy Agyapong Claims Of $800m Bribe To Step Down

A shocking allegations made by Kennedy Agyapong, a flagbearer hopeful of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) that he was offered a staggering $800 million to withdraw from the NPP flagbearership race have been refuted by the Bawumia Campaign.

According to the Bawumia campaign team, these claims are entirely false.

In a statement signed by Dr. Gideon Boako, spokesperson to the Vice President, the Bawumia Campaign team stated that the Vice President, Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, has not had any private meetings with Kennedy Agyapong since he entered the race.

They emphasized that the Vice President has never instructed anyone to negotiate with Mr Agyapong or his representatives regarding the contest.

The Bawumia Campaign further addressed the absurdity of the $800 million claims, asserting that it displays a complete disregard for the intelligence of Ghanaians.

They reiterated that Dr. Bawumia is confident in his ability to defeat Agyapong on November 4, 2023 and has never entertained the idea of him stepping down.

This is not the first time Agyapong has made such allegations. The Bawumia Campaign noted that he previously claimed to have been offered money to step down and become Dr. Bawumia’s running mate.
However, these claims were publicly denied on September 30, 2023, as baseless and lacking evidence.

The Bawumia Campaign stressed that Dr. Bawumia is a man of modesty and values, committed to serving the people with his intellect. They urged the public to disregard these outrageous lies and reiterated their commitment to running a decent campaign without resorting to personal attacks, lies, or insults to preserve the unity of the party.
