President of Bechem United FC, Kingsley Owusu-Achau (Agama), has presented an ultra-modern library to the Tano community in Bechem.
It was commissioned by Dr. Erieka Bennett of the Diaspora Africa Forum and chaired by Dr. Nana Nkrumah Brobbey.
The residents of the community expressed their profound gratitude to Mr. Owusu-Achau, who is a businessman, philanthropist and native of Bechem for donating the library, which was also christened Kings Foundation Centre of Learning.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Owusu-Achau said, “It was a great joy to give back to the Tano community with a library, being a former teacher myself, and so when Nana Gyeabour told me he desired to build a library, I bought into the idea because it corresponded beautifully with the motto of Bechem United FC ‘education through sports’.”
He added, “Our cherished dream has become a reality after many years.”
The Kings Foundation Centre of Learning comprises a library, an IT and cultural centre.
He mentioned that an adult education centre will later be inculcated into the centre to give everyone equal opportunity for education.
Ambassador Bennett said it was a great honour done her to commission the centre, and she pledged her support and expertise to ensure the centre grows.
