The BIC Junior Art Master Challenge was launched at the Penfield School on Tuesday, May 4, 2021.

Themed, “My COVID-19 Experience,” the art challenge is aimed at improving the imaginative activities of young learners to problem-solving techniques which will help them to view the world creatively.

Speaking at the launch, George Nkonsah, the Head of Business Development, Ghana–Cameroon clusters, said the art challenge is an opportunity for children to showcase their creativity and get rewarded for their talent.

“We are excited to launch the BIC Kids Art Master Challenge for the first time around different schools in Ghana. And it is a drawing competition for students in different age groups allowing them to showcase their creativity and get rewarded with scholarships, and products from BIC for their talents,” Mr. Nkonsah said.

The Senior Marketing Officer, West, and Central Africa, Leonard Ehouabolet, also said that 30 schools have been selected to participate in the BIC Junior Art Master Challenge from three regions; Greater Accra, Eastern, and Ashanti regions. The 30 participating schools include Ave Maria Preparatory School, Penfield School, Flobar Preparatory School, University of Ghana Basic School, De Youngsters School, Grace Preparatory, among others.

“The BIC competition will give our kids the opportunity to discover the arts in them, considering how our educational system has been structured. It will also expand the child’s ability to interact with the world around them, and provide a new set of skills for self-expression and communication.

“We are confident that the contestants will enjoy unleashing the artist in them with the best colouring BIC instruments they can find in Ghana,” he added.
