Musician Black Sherif has dismissed Shatta Wale’s recent comments about ending his career, labelling the claims as insignificant and unworthy of attention.
Speaking with Nigeria’s City FM on December 6, 2024, Black Sherif, popularly known as Blacko, addressed the ongoing tension with the dancehall artiste.
Shatta Wale had earlier suggested he could bring an end to Black Sherif’s career, a claim that has since fueled widespread discussions among fans.
However, Blacko made it clear that he is not bothered by such remarks.
“This is the second time I’ve been asked this question, and I think the kind of attention I’m supposed to give that thing is pretty irrelevant in my world. You have to care about something to even let it bother you, but for this, I don’t care,” Blacko said confidently.
The Kwaku The Traveller hitmaker also dismissed any notion of rivalry with Shatta Wale, emphasising that their societal roles make such conflicts impossible.
“Nothing can happen between me and Shatta Wale. It just can’t happen. Because of the kind of position we both occupy in society, the street can’t have that kind of bad blood,” he explained.
The feud gained traction after Shatta Wale criticised Black Sherif’s fashion sense during an October 31 appearance on the Bant, Rants, and Confessions podcast, suggesting that the young star needed to elevate his style.
Shortly after that, Black Sherif posted a photo of Shatta Wale on Snapchat with the caption, “I plaster everywhere,” which many fans interpreted as a jab at the dancehall artiste.
Black Sherif, however, denied any intent to mock Shatta Wale, clarifying that the post was unrelated to the earlier comments.
“I didn’t post anything on my Snap because of him. So, because someone went to do an interview, shouldn’t I post it on my Snap? I didn’t reply to him, and whatever they said online is just fan-fueled stuff,” he clarified.
Despite the fan-fueled drama, Black Sherif remains focused on his music career, and has shown no interest in escalating the feud.
The young star’s calm and measured response highlights his dedication to his craft over industry disputes.
As of now, Shatta Wale has yet to respond to Black Sherif’s latest remarks.
