Captain Planet, a member of the now-defunct music group 4×4, has paid glowing tribute to veteran hiplife duo Buk Bak for playing a pivotal role in the early success of his group.
Speaking in an interview on YFM on Tuesday, the musician singled out Bright of Buk Bak for his immense support during 4×4’s formative years.
According to Captain Planet, 4×4 rose to prominence even before releasing their debut album, largely due to the exposure and opportunities provided by Buk Bak.
“We became famous even before releasing an album because Buk Bak had already introduced us to the spotlight. We even travelled to America before Buk Bak themselves,” he said.
He added that the trio received unwavering support and guidance from the veteran group at a time when they were still finding their feet in the industry.
“Buk Bak really took good care of the three of us. May God bless them. If it wasn’t for Buk Bak, we don’t know if we would have come this far. We are truly grateful for their support,” he noted.
Captain Planet further emphasised the depth of his gratitude, stating that he would not hesitate to perform even the most humble tasks for Bright in appreciation of his mentorship.
“If Bright asks me to do his laundry today, I won’t hesitate. No matter how high you rise, you must learn to serve. I used to wear Bright’s Timberland boots, and I am not ashamed to say it,” he revealed.
“In fact, I will do it again and again because they gave me life, and I have to serve them,” he added.
