Charcoal Burner Found Dead In Bush

A 57-YEAR-old charcoal burner who left home to go and attend to his business in the forest at Bayirebon-Pakyi in the Ashanti Region but failed to return was found dead the next day.

Kwadwo Kissi, had gone to the forest to burn charcoal on May 3, 2022, but he did not return home, sparking fears and panic.

Then next day, May 4, 2022, Kissi’s wife, one Akos, rushed to the forest early in the morning to search for her missing husband, only to find his lifeless body.

According to reports, there were multiple cuts and blood on Kissi’s head when the body was found.

A police document disclosed that Kissi’s body has since been deposited in a mortuary for autopsy and preservation as police are still investigating the strange death.

It indicated that Tahidu Seidu of Bayirebon-Pakyi, accompanied by Eric Obour, reported that on 03/06/22, his brother, Kissi went to burn charcoal in the forest.

The bereaved family officially reported the case to the police to investigate.

“Police proceeded to Bayirebon-Pakyi where the body of the deceased Kwadwo Kissi, dressed in red shirt over a black shorts, was found at a football field, lying dead in a supine position and covered with fresh leaves.

“Physical examination on the body revealed multiple cuts on the head around the occiput,” part of the police report, sighted by the paper, disclosed.

The body, police said, was later on conveyed and deposited at the Nyinahin Community Mortuary for preservation, pending autopsy. Investigations are underway.
