Chiana-Paga MP Rejected

Rudolph Amenga-Etego

Fourteen National Democratic Congress Members of Parliament in the Upper East Region were re-elected to represent the party in the 2020 Parliamentary elections.

However, Chiana-Paga Constituency delegates rejected their Member of Parliament, Lawyer Rudolph Amenga-Etego, who is in his first term in parliament.

Lawyer Rudolph Amenga-Etego polled 272 votes, while the winner and former DCE for Kassena-Nankana West District, Thomas Adda Dalu, polled 365.

A first timer, businessman and Paga Crocodile F.C financier, Nikyema Billa Alamzy, polled 353 votes.

In Bawku Central, incumbent Member of Parliament, Mahama Ayariga, went unopposed, because Abdulai Musah, former Municipal Chief Executive for Bawku stepped down at the last minute and another person, Alhaji Duri was disqualified over nonpayment of filing fee.
