Churchill and Rosy Meurer
Nigerian Businessman, Olakunle Churchill, has dismissed reports of a marital crisis with actress, Rosy Meurer, insisting that there was never a legally recognised marriage between them.
The development follows circulating claims that Meurer had filed for divorce after Churchill’s reported reconciliation with his ex-wife, Tonto Dikeh.
Reacting to alleged divorce documents shared online, Churchill took to Instagram on Wednesday to reject the claims, describing them as false and without legal basis.
According to him, what existed between himself and Meurer was only a traditional introduction and not a formal marriage that would require a divorce.
“What took place was an introduction. Therefore, the idea of a ‘divorce’ is baseless from the outset,” he said.
He further stated that there was no church or court wedding to validate claims of a legal union.
“The reports circulating online about a supposed divorce between myself and Roseline Meurer are completely false. There is no truth to them. There was no legally recognised marriage. There was no church wedding and no court wedding,” he added.
Churchill also questioned the authenticity of the alleged legal documents, claiming he was never officially served and raising concerns about due process.
“Any legitimate legal process requires that all parties be formally served and given the opportunity to respond. I was never served,” he said.
He went on to criticise those advising Rosy Meurer, including her legal representatives, alleging a lack of professionalism in handling the situation.
The controversy continues to fuel speculation about the state of their relationship, though Churchill maintains that the reports of a divorce are unfounded.
