The University for Development Studies (UDS) held its April congregation at the Tamale campus in the Northern Region, awarding degrees to 957 graduates.
Of the 957, 416 (43.5%) completed postgraduate programmes: 21 earned PhDs, 333 completed master’s degrees and 62 received Postgraduate Diplomas. A total of 541 graduates (56.5%) completed programmes in Nursing and Midwifery. At the master’s level, the 333 graduands represent 80% of all postgraduate students.
At the ceremony, Vice-Chancellor, Professor Seidu Al-Hassan, said the graduates have been equipped with advanced analytical, professional and leadership skills that will enable them to contribute meaningfully to national and global development.
“The professionals the University produces demonstrate UDS’s commitment to addressing one of the nation’s most critical needs: access to quality education,” he said
He urged graduates to carry forward the university’s values of integrity, service, innovation and resilience.
“Let your education be a tool for transformation. Let your lives reflect the values you have acquired here, and let your impact be felt in the communities you serve,” Professor Al-Hassan added.
He reiterated that the University remains committed to continuous improvement and will continue to invest in infrastructure, strengthen academic programmes, and expand research and build strategic partnerships.
