Nigeria has received its first batch of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine.
About 3.92 million doses of the vaccine arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport on board an Emirates Boeing 777-300 on Tuesday March 2, 2021.
The World Health Organisation (WHO) announced the arrival of the vaccine in a tweet.
“3.92 million #COVID19 vaccine doses from #COVAX have just arrived in Abuja, Nigeria🇳🇬,” the World health Organisation said.
“This first COVID-19 vaccine shipment to Africa’s most populous nation marks a huge step towards #VaccinEquity. Congratulations #Nigeria!👏🏿 https://t.co/BmYcfjcsao”
