Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Atala Group, Kwaku Atala Asante, was adjudged the Best National Distributor for 2021.
Mr. Asante on behalf of the distributors thanked Diamond Cement Group for recognising their role in the industry, and pledged to remain loyal to the company.
The Chairman of Diamond Cement Group, Mukeshkumar Patel, thanked the distributors for their support and collaboration over the years, adding that the company exists as a result of distributors and customers.
He assured distributors of the company’s commitment to continuously produce the best quality cement unto the market.
Chief Marketing Officer of the Group, Brijesh Singh, said “Due to the current economic situation that led to an increase in the prices of raw materials, we had to also increase the prices of our products which has impact on our consumers and distributors.”
Executive Secretary of the Chamber of Cement Manufacturers Association of Ghana, Dr. Dawson Amoah, on his part said though competition is good in any business environment, the mandate of the chamber among things is to prevent unfair trade practices to enable firms in the industry compete fairly.
Dr. Dawson further hinted of enactment of legislation by the chamber to check cement manufacturing companies on standard practices, conditions for establishing a cement factory, among others to protect cement production in Ghana.
