Songstress, Diana Asamoah, has lent her vocal talents to the political campaign by composing a campaign song for the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, in anticipation of the upcoming 2024 general elections.
In an interview with Fiifi Pratt on Kingdom FM, Diana Asamoah debuted the song, which praises Dr. Bawumia’s leadership qualities and portrays him as the ideal candidate to lead the nation.
With lyrics extolling his intelligence and humble demeanour, Asamoah emphasised the need for a leader like Dr. Bawumia to unite the country and bring about positive change.
During the interview, Asamoah expressed her admiration for Dr. Bawumia’s ability to unite people, and stated that many Ghanaians are eager to see him in a leadership role due to his track record and character traits.
While the song has been unveiled to the public through the interview, Asamoah has yet to make an official announcement regarding its release to the general public.
An excerpt from the song’s lyrics capturing the sentiment behind Dr. Bawumia’s candidacy goes, “Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is knowledgeable and bold. He is a humble person capable of uniting people. Ghanaians are calling for him because we need him.”
As the political landscape gears up for the December 7 polls, Dr. Bawumia will face off against the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, and other candidates vying for the presidency.
With Asamoah’s campaign song adding a musical dimension to the political discourse, the stage is set for an eventful election season.
