DJ Advicer Goes Home On April 17

Happy FM presenter De-Graft Danquah, popularly known as DJ Advicer, who died on March 4 at the 37 Military Hospital in Accra after a short illness, will be buried on April 17 at his hometown Ekumfi in the Central Region.

This was made known by his family at his one week remembrance ceremony held last Thursday at the forecourt of Happy FM, which was attended by friends and family of the deceased.

Radio and television personalities who graced the ceremony include Andy Dosty of Hitz FM, Bola Ray, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) EIB Network Group, Roman Fada of Atinka FM, Afia Schwarzenegger and Mercury Quaye of Hitz FM.

Others are Afrifa Peasah of Atinka TV, Ekuoba Gyasi of Atinka FM, Mr. Shark, DJ Pako Rich (Zylofon FM), and Giovanni Caleb of TV3.

Some artistes who also attended the ceremony are Rex Omar, Kuami Eugene, Okyeame Kwame, DJ MJ, Epixode, Amanda and a host of others.

Until his demise, DJ Advicer was the host of ‘Ayekoo After Drive’ show on Happy 98.9 FM. He was known to his peers as passionate, down to earth and full of life.

He left a legacy in the world of DJing by winning the ‘Best Music Promoter’ on four occasions at the Ghana DJ Awards, and will forever remain in the hearts of industry players.

Mercury Quaye, who led the Association of Ghanaian DJs, expressed their sorrow at losing a committed talent like DJ Advicer.

To them, the DJ who had set an enviable record at the DJ Awards, would always be celebrated and immortalised in the country’s entertainment history.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Global Media Alliance, speaking at the ceremony said, “It is sad for us to have met under these circumstances but we need to remember DJ Advicer. I need to eulogise him, for he was a friend.”

He described the late DJ Advicer as one who was always engaged in the company’s activities and shared some memories they made together, especially at Run Ghana events.
