Don’t Vote For Mahama – Nana

President Nana Akufo-Addo

PRESIDENT NANA Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has taken a swipe at ex-President John Mahama, stressing that development on the ground in terms of roads construction shows that the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) was lying to the people about constructing more roads.

According to President Akufo-Addo, contrary to Mr. Mahama’s continuous claims, most of the road networks in the country are currently in deplorable conditions and he is the one rather fixing them.

Addressing a durbar of chiefs and people at Konongo in the Asante Akyem Central Municipality in the Ashanti Region, the President said, “You cannot trust Mr. John Mahama to manage the affairs of this country again. In fact, when he was the President, he continually bragged that he had fixed most of the roads. But when I assumed the mantle of leadership, I realized Mr. Mahama’s claim of constructing more roads across the country was palpably false.”

“Wherever I have visited in the 16 regions of the country, you will see traditional leaders and their people crying over the poor condition of their roads. Indeed, their road networks are very bad,” he added.

The President said he had been asking himself “where are the roads that former President Mahama continually said he had fixed across the country?” He, therefore, fired that the NDC cannot manage the state.

‘Year of Roads’ Continues

He gave an assurance that his ‘Year of Roads’ policy, which has seen more bad roads being fixed, would continue, God willing in 2021, after he had started his second term as Ghana’s President.

The President said the country’s developmental agenda would also be accelerated if there were quality road networks in the country; therefore, his next government would construct more modern roads.

Confident of Victory

Commenting on the December 7 elections, President Akufo-Addo said his government would retain political power and sustain the works it had executed so far. He urged the party members to campaign hard and avoid complacency.

According to him, he has kept faith with the people as he has successfully implemented majority of his 2016 campaign promises to the satisfaction of Ghanaians, including even non-NPP members.

“My positive works reflect in all sectors of the state and that will be my trump card to win the December 7 presidential polls,” he stated with confidence, stressing that the 2020 victory of the NPP is unstoppable.”
