Multimedia presenter and journalist Doreen Avio was honoured over the weekend at the fifth edition of the Feminine Ghana Achievement Awards held at the La Palm Beach Hotel.

She took home the best achiever in media (radio) at the ceremony which brought together influential personalities, particularly women.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister of Gender, Children & Social Protection, Cynthia Morrison, encouraged women to work together and support one another wherever they find themselves.

The awards scheme has been established to identify, publicly recognise and reward women whose personal and professional conduct have been exemplary and whose achievements have been outstanding.

The weekend’s ceremony recognised women who have achieved outstanding accomplishments in their various fields of endeavour across both public and private sectors.

Among them were entrepreneurs, professionals, corporate executives, public institutional managers, diplomats, sportswomen and traditional rulers.

In all, 50 women were honoured during the night.

Doreen Avio was one of the youngest recipients at the award.

She is currently the co-host of Cruise Control on Hitz 103.9 FM from Mondays to Fridays between 4:00 to 7:00pm.

She is also the host of Let’s Talk Showbiz on Joy News, also aired from Mondays to Fridays at 4:45pm.
