THE MUNICIPAL Chief Executive for Jaman South Andrews Bedia has said he is the only candidate with the appeal to unite the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the constituency and reclaim the seat from the opposition National Democratic Congress NDC.

He said this as he filed his nomination form to contest for the upcoming parliamentary primaries in the constituency.

The nomination form was received by the constituency secretary, Samuel Obeng Takyi at the Constituency party office at the district capital Drobo. Other constituency party executives witnessed the submission. Accompanied the form was a banker’s draft of GH¢ 35,000, passport photographs, educational certificates as per the requirement for qualification.

Scrutinizing the forms, Mr Obeng Takyi acknowledged the candidate had satisfied all requirements including ten party members who were to endorse his form.

With his form accepted Andrews Bediako becomes the third candidate to have successfully submitted his nomination form among seven persons who picked forms to contest for the primaries.

Former MP for the area, Yaw Afful, and Col rtd. Kwadwo Damoah, have all successfully submitted their forms. Yet to submit forms are Alexander Ferka, Simon Agyei Takyi, lawyer Daniel Korang and Ebenezer Amoah Nketiah.

Addressing his supporters after submitting the form he said, “Jaman South is our stronghold and we must take it back. Our people misunderstood the issues and the opposition capitalized on it and lied to the people to their advantage.

Through my efforts and that of other members of the party we have explained to the people and so there is unity amongst us now.

The people have regretted voting for the NDC and we are poise to take the seat back. I have good personal relationship with everybody including the Drobo, Japekrom and Dwenem Traditional Councils so I urge the delegates to give me the chance to win back the seat for our great party for further development of the district/ constituency”, he pleaded.
