THE ELECTRICITY Company of Ghana (ECG) has apologised to Ghanaians for the ongoing power outages being experienced in the country since Sunday.
In a statement issued recently signed by Kwame Agyeman-Budu, Managing Director of ECG, it noted, “ECG wishes to inform the general public, especially its cherished customers, that it has taken notice of the recent system shutdowns emanating from the challenges faced by GRIDCo, the national interconnection transmission system operator, resulting in widespread outages within its operational areas in the southern zone of Ghana.”
It also said “ECG is working closely with GRIDCo to restore power to all our customers. We hereby apologise for all the inconveniences caused and wish to assure all stakeholders that the company is resolved in carrying out its mandate of distributing safe, quality and reliable power supply.
It has therefore encouraged customers experiencing prolonged outages within their localities or individual premises to report to the nearest ECG office.
“Once again, ECG apologises for the inconveniences caused them by the system outages.”
