Estate Developer Cries Over Demolition

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Incant 2 Solution Homes, Nana Ofori Boasiako, has taken a swipe at the Ayawaso West Assembly for a demolition exercise carried out Wednesday at East Legon.

According to him, the demolition exercise, which he described as illegal, was done out of malice, noting that the land was legitimately given for development by the Assembly.

Speaking to the media yesterday, Nana Boasiako wondered why the Assembly that issued him a permit to develop the land would turn around to demolish structures for projects being carried out.

“I applied to the Ayawaso West Assembly that I wanted to cover the culverts and bring it to an international standard to allow for easy flow of the drainage,” he said.

“The government is supposed to do this drainage system, but I’ve taken it upon myself to do it so that I can develop my office apartment without impediments,” the estate developer explained.

He disclosed that he bought the land for $140,000 from the owners some years ago without any hitch, indicating that the land is adjacent to the Araya Islamic School.

According to him, the parcel of land stretches to Lagos Avenue, and it forms part of the Airport Extension.

He said since the land is situated within the airport enclave, he applied for regularisation from the Lands Commission as required.

Nana Ofori disclosed that the Lands Commission granted him the regularisation at the cost of GH¢780,000, arguing that he is the true bona fide owner of the land.

He suspects the Assembly intended to sell it out to someone since his caretaker, last year, informed him that another top businessman and his men came on the land.

He claimed that the data available at the Lands Commission confirms his ownership of the land, and that his inquiries with the family who sold the land to him revealed that the land had not been sold to anyone other than him.

The Incant 2 Solutions Home boss has therefore appealed to the presidency to intervene in order to prevent the Ayawaso West Wuogon Municipal Chief Executive, Sandra Ahenkorah, from using her position to indulge in illegality.

Nana Ofori also hints to sue the Assembly and the police for the illegal demolition of his project.
