The gutted house at the police barracks
FOUR POLICEMEN have been rendered homeless after a raging inferno gutted their rooms last Thursday.
The blaze, reportedly, swept through a police barracks at Jacobu in the Ashanti Region, sparking fear and panic.
Luckily, no casualties were recorded, but the blazing fire caused massive destruction in the four affected rooms.
What started the fire was not immediately known, with eyewitnesses suspecting electrical fault to have caused the fire outbreak.
According to some people at the scene, they saw a thick smoke emanating from one of the rooms around 12pm.
They said few minutes later, the smoke was followed by an intense blaze, which travelled to other rooms at top speed.
According to them, firefighters were called to douse the blaze, but it was too late as four rooms had already been gutted.
Meanwhile, when the report was being filed, the authorities concerned were investigating the cause of the inferno.
