Residents of Sekondi have benefitted from a day’s free health screening exercise organised in the area by ASA Savings & Loans Limited.
Over 100 residents were screened for blood pressure, malaria, cholesterol and sugar levels. They were also given post-test counselling.
The health screening formed part of the company’s corporate social responsibilities.
A health team from Bekerech Medical Laboratory Services, based in Takoradi, screened the residents.
Felix Ahiadome, Anaji Area Manager of ASA Savings & Loans, explained that the screening exercise was aimed at offering free medical services to inhabitants residing within the company’s operational area.
He disclosed that the health screening exercise for the people of Sekondi cost the company about GH¢5,000.
He mentioned other communities that also benefitted from the health screening as Inchaban in the Shama District and Amanful in the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis.
He stressed that the health needs of the people within their catchment area would remain paramount to the company and never be relegated to the background.
The residents commended the company for the initiative and the kind gesture shown to the people, and urged ASA to continue offering such health services to the community.
That, they said, would enable the residents have access to good healthcare within the area.
