The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has paid a courtesy visit to the family of the late Sylvester Nii Sabahn Quaye, former Team Manager of the Black Stars and Accra Hearts of Oak.
The delegation, led by GFA Executive Council Members Nana Sarfo Oduro and Samuel Aboabire, also included GFA Foundation Director Malcolm Apeadu and Head of Human Resource and Administration Keziah Afosa Agyekumwaa.
The visit was aimed at expressing the Association’s condolences to the bereaved family and honouring the memory of a respected football administrator who dedicated several years to the development of Ghana football.
Speaking on behalf of the GFA, Nana Sarfo Oduro described Nii Sabahn Quaye as a passionate and committed servant of the game whose contributions to both the national team and Hearts of Oak would be remembered.
He said the GFA had lost “a true servant of the game” and extended the Association’s sympathies to the family on behalf of the President and Executive Council.
The family expressed gratitude to the GFA for its support and for recognising the legacy of their loved one.
Nii Sabahn Quaye served as Team Manager of Hearts of Oak for several years before taking up a similar role with the Black Stars, where he earned respect for his professionalism and fatherly relationship with players.
He passed away on Sunday, June 28, aged 77, following a period of illness.
