The Ghana Golf Association (GGA) has presented items worth several thousands of cedis to the Achimota Hospital amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The items included boxes of Cavas hair net, Santex polythene apron, Cavas latex gloves and cartons of alcohol-based sanitizers.

It was meant to support the health facility fight the global pandemic, having recorded a little over 10 coronavirus cases lately.

And to the GGA President, Mike Aggrey, who led the delegation, there was no better time to reach out to the hospital than last Wednesday.

“This is just a token to support the hospital fight the coronavirus pandemic. First of all, the hospital are our landlords and secondly, our neighbours.

This is from our own resources. Of course, Quench Natural Mineral Water, Ghandour Cosmetic and Meprolim Ghana Limited rallied massive support for this gesture,” he stated.

“Let’s ensure we observe all the protocols regarding the pandemic. We believe the items will definitely go a long way in supporting the facility and your patients,” the GGA boss added.

The acting Medical Superintendent, Salamatu Attah Nantogma, who received the items on behalf of the hospital, expressed profuse thanks to GGA for the gesture.

“This will certainly help us in diverse ways in this fight. We will put it to good use, and we want to say we are, indeed, grateful for the items. They are more than enough,” she said.

The captain of Achimota Golf Club, Kwasi Amoafo-Yeboah, Madam Joy Arkutu and Newton Ahanogbe of Meprolim Limited were also present for the ceremony at the hospital.
