Over 50 junior golfers played spiritedly in this year’s Ghana Juniors Golf Open at the Achimota Golf Club on Wednesday.

The young golfers, drawn from the various golf clubs in the country battled for honours in three different Holes categories -18, nine and four.

In the end, a 74 score handed James Anaba the overall prize in the 18 Holes segment after beating Abdul Mohammed by five strokes.

And for his efforts, he received a beautiful trophy and a brand new set of Taylor Made Golf Clubs.

It was Jacob Adongo with a 42 score, who emerged tops in the boys 9 Holes category, while Benjamin Amuzu, 48 score, who followed in second place.

The girls 9 Holes event saw Afi Amezado, 42 score, finishing first, with Christina Quagoo trailing with 48 score.

Ferroni Jonah finished first in a special 4 Holes group, while Sasha Godono finished in second place.

GGA President, Mike Aggrey, commended the young golfers for demonstrating a high level of professionalism and sportsmanship in the one-day competition.

He also commended Tournament Director Madam Joy Arkutu for delivering a top notch competition and expressed appreciation to some individual members from the Achimota Golf Club who contributed in one way or the other for the event.

Individuals including Club President David Arkutu, Club Captain Kwesi Amoafo Yeboah and Dr. and Mrs. Arkutu supported the event as well as MTN, R&A and Jacy Settles provided giveaways.

The GGA President singled out Sowah-Oddoi’s Printing Right Printers for their logistics support.
