Ghana’s U-15 girls delivered a dominant performance to kick off their campaign at the CAF African Schools Championship, thrashing Guinea 6–0 in a one-sided opener.

The defending champions wasted no time taking control, racing into a two-goal lead within the first eight minutes.

The young girls also secured a 2-1 victory over Tanzania in the second group match yesterday and inch closer to the knockout round.

In the opning gamae, Belinda Kpentey opened the scoring in the 6th minute after capitalising on sustained early pressure, before Jennifer Awuku doubled the advantage just two minutes later with a composed finish.

Ghana maintained their intensity and control, continuing to dictate play across the pitch. Their attacking pressure paid off again in the 19th minute when Mavis Koah added a third, putting the result beyond doubt before the halfway mark of the first half.

Margaret Tawiah then took centre stage, scoring in the 22nd minute to make it four before grabbing her second of the match in the 30th minute, further underlining Ghana’s superiority.

Janet Eyram completed the emphatic victory in the 35th minute, finishing off a clinical team display as Ghana sealed a comprehensive six-goal win.

The result sends a strong message to the rest of the competition as Ghana begin their title defence in impressive fashion.

Christiana Ashiaku scored the two goals in the second game against Tanzania. Attention now turns to Burkina Faso in the final group match scheduled for today.
