Gideon Boako Pays For New Party Membership Cards In Tano North

THE ECONOMIC advisor and spokesperson to Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Dr. Gideon Boako, has paid for the cost of new party membership cards for all constituency executives at Tano North in the Ahafo Region as the party rolls out new membership cards across the country.

The payment covers all polling station executives in the constituency. At the time of payment, Dr. Gideon Boako said the gesture was geared towards victory for the New Party Patriotic (NPP) in the 2024 general elections.

According to him, there is the need for vigilant functional executives at the constituencies and polling stations so that a resounding victory can be achieved in 2024.

This, he said, was what drove him to absorb the entire cost for the executives, especially during these harsh economic times.

According to him, the NPP has decided to roll out new membership cards with some security features following the national launch by President Akufo-Addo in October this year in Kumasi.

“This is to make way for new biometric or electronic membership for easy identification, data keeping and proper management geared towards consolidation and increasing membership base in order to boost chances of retaining power in 2024,” he said.

The registration is in two phases; one involves all executives at polling stations to national level and the mass registration of party supporters in all constituencies in the country.

Dr. Boako after payment explained that one unique feature of the new membership card is that it lasts forever until one ceases to be a member.

“With this, members can now pay their dues and make donations through SMS to the party’s account directly,” he said.

Constituency Chairman of Tano North, Karikari Apau, commended the presidential advisor for the timely support, saying it was not the first time he has made such a gesture to the constituency, but has been supportive in the running of the constituency with logistics among others.

“Recently, he supported the constituency to embark on sensitisation tour to educate delegates. He has been very supportive and we are happy and proud of him. The whole constituency is grateful to him,” he noted.

Mr. Karikari used the opportunity to urge party faithful to be ambassadors of the national exercise so that every eligible member can register and get the new card.
