God Is My Pillar – Otumfuo

THE ASANTEHENE, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has claimed that God has been his backbone and source of power since ascending to the Golden Stool 25 years ago.

“My reign as Asantehene has been hugely successful because God is my pillar,” he said, adding that he has always looked to God for guidance and assistance.

Addressing a massive crowd during a nondenominational church service at the forecourt of the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi, the Asantehene said he could not have accomplished anything without God’s unfailing love, support, direction, and power.

The church service is one of several events commemorating his 25-year reign as the 16th Asante King.

Clergymen of high repute from across the country attended the religious gathering, which featured intense prayers.

During his reign, the Asantehene stated that he has also received support from a number of local and international people and groups.

He also emphasised the support he has had from the paramount chiefs and queens over the last 25 years, thanking the Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III, and all others for their service, loyalty, and support.

Otumfuo again expressed gratitude to the clergy and all well-meaning Ghanaians for the prayers since ascending to the Golden Stool.

The Asantehene acknowledged that much had been accomplished in the last 25 years and committed to do even more for Asanteman, Ghana, and the globe as a whole.

Significantly, the momentous day concluded with a cake cutting ceremony at Otumfuo’s residence, attended by chiefs and other dignitaries.
