Grace Boadu Gets Doctorate Award

GRACE Boadu, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Grace Gift Herbal Clinic and Laboratory Services, has been honoured with ‘Honorary Doctor of Leadership and Management Award’ by the City University, Cambodia, for her pivotal roles in the growth of herbal medicine in Ghana.

The awarding university explained that it was impressed by the charity works and the huge roles that Dr. Boadu, who is a trained nurse, had played in the herbal medicine industry, especially in the treatment of stroke and infertility over the years.

Prior to her decoration at a colourful ceremony in Accra, a citation read for her said, “The Board of Directors of this great university wish to confer an honorary doctorate degree award on you due to your good leadership and generous achievement and contribution to  Christendom and the nation and society as a whole.

“After our board assessment and research done this year by authorized appointed Country Director, Prof. Dr. Samuel Afriyie Asante, Africa Operations presented to us, the University Council reviewed your profile and granted the approval of the above research presented by our representative and for this.

“We are congratulating you on this doctorate to be conferred upon you and advise you to keep on with the good work toward humanity and society as a whole; therefore, we confer upon you a Doctorate of Leadership and Management.”

Dr. Boadu is a trained nurse from the St. Gilbert Nursing College in Kumasi. After graduating from school, she worked with the County Hospital, Kumasi; Mary Lucy Hospital, Accra; Kropo Charity Hospital, and Ebenezer Maternity Home, Kumasi.

According to her, she started having reoccurring dreams which involved using herbs to treat various ailments, especially infertility and stroke and also heard certain strange voice directing her on how to use plants to heal the sick.

She said she then left her nursing profession to set up the Grace Gift Herbal Clinic and Laboratory Services and a few years after entering the herbal industry, she has worked tirelessly to open branches at Atwima Koforidua, Brong Ahafo, and the latest one at Ohwim, off Barekese road, where various people with different sicknesses have called on her for help.

The CEO, after the award, said “I am really honoured for the recognition, coming from such a reputable institution. It goes to show that people and institutions monitor my works at Grace Gift Herbal Clinic.”

She dedicated the award to God, her hard-working staff and all those that have contributed to help her clinic to reach its current enviable status. She gave an assurance that she would be encouraged to do more for the country.
