George Opare Addo and Hannah Bissiw

INCUMBENT NATIONAL Women’s Organiser of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr. Hannah Louisa Bisiw, and her National Youth Organiser counterpart, George Opare Addo, have held onto their seats in the party after keenly contested primary elections in Cape Coast on Saturday.

Dr. Hannah Bisiw secured 433 votes to beat her only contender, Margaret Ansei, who bagged home 362 of the valid votes, while Opare Addo, popularly known as Pablo, knocked off his sole opponent, Yaw Brogya Genfi, after securing 533 votes.

Brogya Genfi managed to poll 508 votes, and his defeat is the second to Pablo, having lost to him in the 2018 contest.

The votes of Brogya Genfi, however, show a rise in his popularity, having earlier served as the Ashanti Regional Youth Organiser.

The Deputy Youth Organiser’s positions went to Osman Abdulai Ayariga, who obtained 373 votes and Ruth Dela Sedoh, who polled 313 votes to place second out of ten contestants.

For the positions of the Deputy Women’s Organiser, the delegates elected Abigail Elorm Mensah (348 votes) and Felicia Dzifa Tegah (260 votes).
