KILLED! Priscilla Owusu Achia
A level-100 student of the University of Cape Coast (UCC) was over the weekend killed by a speeding sprinter bus.
The deadly incident occurred at Ayensudo near the UCC Satellite Campus of the Nduom School of Business and Technology in the Central Region.
The deceased, Priscilla Owusu Achia, 19, was said to be walking along the road in the company of her friends to buy some food items when she was knocked down by the speeding driver who did not stop.
A statement signed by Major (rtd) Kofi Baah-Bentum of the university’s Public Affairs Directorate said the unidentified driver of the Sprinter struck the B-Com student, while overtaking another vehicle ahead of him.
The statement said the accident left Priscilla with fatal injuries, and she was rushed to the hospital and succumbed to death on Tuesday, April 13, 2021, at about 11:30a.m.
It said that the family of the victim has been informed, while the Saltpond Police had begun investigation into the case.
“The University Management extends its condolences to the bereaved family,” the statement concluded.
