According to DSP Efia Tenge, the head of Public Affairs at the Volta Regional Police Command, the body was almost decomposing when it was discovered. It also emitted a pungent smell and attracted flies. There were traces of blood also in the room.

Furthermore, it was their absence from work over the weekend and that Monday morning that led their co-workers to check from the house where Frank lived.

Coincidentally, the landlady is reported to have seen Frank only on Sunday, November 21, 2021 when he had come to pick his spare keys from her. Little did she know that the retrieval of the spare key may have been a ploy to prevent others from accessing the room.

However, when it emerged on Monday that Frank’s room was emitting a foul smell and hosting flies, the landlady permitted his co-workers and other neighbors to break the door to ascertain the source of the smell.

The body of Lizzy, which was found to be in an advanced state of decomposition in the white double-decker refrigerator was conveyed to the Ho Municipal Hospital morgue. It is awaiting autopsy.

Meanwhile, the Police are still searching for Frank, the said boyfriend who is believed to have killed the deceased. The public is encouraged to promptly share any information of Frank to the nearest police station.
