Kalybos
Actor Kalybos has opened up about a disturbing experience he had on a Kumawood movie set, revealing that he was threatened by a fellow actor shortly before being involved in a serious car accident.
The actor shared this information during a discussion on Game TV, amid ongoing conversations about the use of ‘juju’ in the movie industry.
Kalybos recounted an encounter that occurred while he was filming in Kumasi. After completing a project and returning to Accra, he travelled back to Kumasi for another film. It was during this second trip that he was confronted by an actor he did not know.
“On set, one of the actors, I don’t even know him, approached me and asked why I came from Accra to take their spot. He then threatened me and said, ‘I’ll see if you can continue with the job’,” Kalybos revealed.
The actor, known for his comedic roles, expressed his belief that the threat was not an empty one, especially given the car accident that followed soon after.
“If you cannot attest to such happenings then you’d doubt it. The first major car accident I had; I believe was in tune with such. This was before COVID, in 2019,” he added.
Kalybos’ disclosure comes at a time when discussions about the use of supernatural means or ‘juju’, to harm or hinder others in the entertainment industry have been reignited.
While some may dismiss such claims as superstition, Kalybos’ experience underscores the tension and competition that can exist behind the scenes in the movie industry.
