Omah Stanley Didia
Nigerian Afrobeats singer, Omah Stanley Didia, popularly known as Omah Lay, has revealed that he has stopped forcing himself to quit smoking.
Speaking during a recent podcast interview with DJ Dan, the ‘Soso’ hitmaker said he had made several attempts to stop smoking but struggled to break the habit.
Omah Lay said he has now accepted smoking as part of his lifestyle, arguing that everyone will eventually die.
“I love smoking a lot. I tried to stop, I forced myself but I can’t. Honestly bro, life is just one. I am going to just die one day. We are all going to die one day,” he said.
According to the singer, smoking also gives him what he described as “artificial happiness” and a sense of rebellion because cannabis is illegal in Nigeria.
“I just want to be at peace and smoke my weed. And the fact that it is illegal in Nigeria, it gives me artificial happiness and a sense of rebellion,” he stated.
Omah Lay added that he has decided to live his life on his own terms and enjoy the things that make him happy.
“This is it. This is my life. I will just live it. I will enjoy every single thing that I have,” he said.
