I Voted For Sosu But Regret Now – Kwadwo Sheldon

Ghana’s leading YouTuber, Kwadwo Sheldon, has expressed disappointment with comments made by Member of Parliament (MP) for Madina, Francis-Xavier Sosu, on matters relating to youth unemployment.

Mr. Sosu recently suggested that the youth should own multiple fried noodle joints instead of complaining about lack of jobs. The MP’s remarks sparked backlash for being tone-deaf amid youth unemployment woes in Ghana.

“Sit on Twitter and TikTok and make noise and see whether noise creates jobs. As a young person, you should own about 10 Indomie joints that can fetch you money instead of chasing the government for jobs,” he said.

Kwadwo Sheldon, on his “Yawa of the Day” programme, lashed out at the lawmaker, saying he’s disappointed in him after promising numerous job opportunities for the youth in the run-up to the 2024 general election.

“I am very disappointed in Sosu because this man was promising. l even voted for him as an MP considering my affiliation with the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

“You promised the youth jobs and now this is what you are saying? I’m shocked. And even with the starting of the Indomie business, you think it is easy? You will need money to establish the venture. Let us be serious as a country.”
