Four Promoted Police Officers
THE GHANA Police Service has promoted four officers from the Western Central Regional Police Command in recognition of their diligence, professionalism, and dedication to duty.
The promoted officers are: No. 47459 G/Sgt. Fetus Gameli Kukuia, who has been elevated to the rank of Inspector; No. 52192 G/Cpl. Christian Asare, now a Sergeant; No. 52441 G/Cpl. Nicholas Kingsley Amoah, promoted to Lance Corporal; and No. 59947 G/Const. Adam Yakubu, promoted to Lance Corporal.
Inspector General of Police, Mr. Christian Tetteh Yohuno, along with members of the Police Management Board (POMAB), commended the officers for their exemplary service.
The IGP emphasised that their promotions will serve as motivation for other personnel within the Service, highlighting that dedication and exceptional performance will be duly recognised and rewarded.
It is noteworthy that on April 30, 2025, just a day after the tragic murder of five individuals at Asiyaw near Nsawam, the Western Central Regional Police Command successfully arrested three suspects—Hakeem Imoro, Imoro Tahiru, and Nurideen Wahab—for unlawful possession of arms and ammunition at the Bawdie Barrier near Wassa Akropong in the Western Region.
The suspects were traveling on a Grand Bird Bus with registration number AS 4431 22 en route to Wassa Akropong when the officers intercepted and searched the vehicle. This search resulted in the recovery of a submachine gun (SMG) and twenty-one rounds of ammunition from suspect Hakeem Imoro.
During interrogation, Hakeem Imoro disclosed that the firearm had been provided to him by his boss, known as Forson, later identified as Samuel Atsu Forson, who was already in custody in connection with the Asiyaw murders.
Further investigations revealed that the three suspects arrested at Bawdie Barrier were directly linked to the Asiyaw murder case and were attempting to flee the jurisdiction when they were apprehended by the vigilant officers from the Western Central Regional Command.
The Ghana Police Service commended the officers for their outstanding work and reiterated its commitment to recognising and rewarding excellence and dedication in the ongoing fight against crime.
