In a recent development, the International Human Rights Commission (IHRC) Africa Chief has been bestowed with an additional appointment of a permanent portfolio as the Senior Deputy Chairman for the IHRC.

The announcement was made after the IHRC chief held an interactive meeting with the IHRC Africa Chairman, His Excellency Ambassador Zein Abu, to discuss the enhancement and active working mechanism of the organization in Africa.

Amid their discussions, both dignitaries also took the opportunity to shed light on the forthcoming 7th World Summit on Human Rights 2023, which is scheduled to take place in Geneva, Switzerland. The IHRC Chief is expected to announce the Summit dates next week after final consultations with the foreign ministers of the sponsor states.

The IHRC Africa Region is set to remain an administrative support charter and the IGO’s heartbeat for major resolutions, as per their discussion. The IHRC Africa’s Headquarters in Accra, Ghana will facilitate and accommodate conferences, provide syndicate offices, plenary session rooms, administrative settings for member states’ representatives, and project desks in a 3,000 square meter two-story facility.

The IHRC Chief lauded the IHRC Africa’s consistent growth fostered by its experienced Directors and their collaborators. Moreover, the IHRC Chief looked forward to the launch of its Development Partners’ efforts in the coming months.

Overall, the additional appointment of the permanent portfolio is a sign of the organization’s continued growth and development. It is expected to allow the IHRC to better serve Africa as wholeness and to achieve its goals on a larger scale.
