Award-winning musician, Stonebwoy, has claimed that his 2024 hit song Jejereje played a significant role in helping the National Democratic Congress (NDC) secure victory in the last general election.

Speaking at the launch of Ghana’s fundraising campaign towards the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the artist said his contribution to the party’s success should not be overlooked, citing the widespread impact of the song during the election period.

“When we talk about contributions, I believe that my contribution has been very significant in winning power for the NDC,” he said, before singing a portion of the track.

Stonebwoy explained that the song was released at a critical moment when political tensions were high, with the intention of calming the atmosphere. According to him, the message of “reset”—a key campaign theme of the NDC—influenced his decision to put out the track.

“I did it mainly because I am somebody who really believes in reset. So, in my own judgment, I made sure that that music was dropped within a moment where there was some ease in the system because it was so tense,” he stated.

The musician also disclosed that Jejereje was produced within a short timeframe, describing it as a deliberate effort to make a timely impact. He noted that the song was completed in under 24 hours with the support of his production team and cost approximately $20,000 to produce.
