Kassena-Nankana West DCE Laid To Rest At Paga

The late Clement Kuyianyim Dandori 

The Former District Chief Executive for the Kassena-Nankana West, Clement Kuyianyim Dandori who passed on on Friday, February 9, 2018, has been laid to rest at Paga Kakungu in the same District in the Upper East Region.

The Late Dandori passed on at the Ridge Hospital in Accra at age 70, after battling with an unconfirmed illness. He was survived by two wives, Mrs Emma Dandori and Mrs Hajia Fati Dandori, and five Children.

Prior to his demise, the Late Dandori had served in various capacities as a Civil Servant with his last posting being to the Metropolitan Co-ordinating Director for the Sekondi/Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly from the year 2000 – 2009.

In 2011 he contested the NPP Constituency Primaries at the Chiana-Paga Constituency and lost, but won in 2015 when he contested again and became the Parliamentary Candidate for the New Patriotic Party in the 2016 Parliamentary Election. He lost to National Democratic Congress’s Rudolf Amega-Etgo.

The Upper East Regional Minister, Rockson Ayine Bukari described the departed District Chief Executive as a hardworking man who became an inspiration for both the young and old in the Party and the District in general.

“As old as he was, he worked so hard for the district, with the aim of creating the enabling environment for job creation and development. He was punctual and was never late to function nor work, and this is what we must all learn from him as Ghanaians.” The Minister noted.

According to him, but for his death, the Late Dandori could have become the Member of Parliament for the Chiana-Paga Constituency because the people had seen his commitment to the development of the place and the human resources there, adding that, his love for the youth and elderly went beyond Partisan Politics.

The NPP in the Chiana-Paga Constituency in a tribute said they have lost a strong pillar and a unifier who did not believe in the creation of personality camps in the Party.

They said he was so passionate about the various developmental projects President Akufo-Addo has earmarked since assuming office. According to the NPP Executives, the former District Chief Executive believed that, these projects if executed would create the opportunity for him to fulfill his dream of seeing many of the Youth in the area being in gainful

employment.

Though a solemn ceremony, it was also time for members and functionaries of the New Patriotic Party both home and far to come together to share pleasantries and remind themselves of the impending Regional Executives Elections slated for Saturday April 21, 2018.

Many of the aspirants of the various Regional Executive positions took advantage of the funeral ceremony to meet and interact with some of the delegates and to get them to understand their plans for the Party should they become Executives.

Dignitries at the funeral included, the Minister of Local Government, Hajia Alima Mahama, the Deputy Interior Minister, Joseph Dindiok Kpemka, Minister for Water Resource and Sanitation, Joseph Kofi Adda and other National Party Executives of the New Patriotic Party, including John Boadu, Acting General Secretary, Nasara Coordinator, Kamal Deen-Abdallah and the incumbent Upper East Regional Chairman, Mohammed Murtala Ibrahim.
