Kennedy Agyapong Shares Trucks Of Rice To Ashanti Region Delegates

Kennedy Agyapong, a flagbearer hopeful of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has reportedly distributed three trailers of rice to delegates of the party in the Ashanti Region.

This move comes ahead of the party’s national delegates conference scheduled for November 4, 2023, where a flagbearer for the 2024 elections will be elected.

In a viral video that was recently shared on social media, three trucks loaded with bags of rice were seen arriving at Kennedy Agyapong’s campaign office in the Ashanti Region.

A man named Nana Akufo Addo, who identified himself as a delegate, narrated in the video that the rice was specifically meant for the Ashanti Region.

“This is for us in Ashanti Region, three trucks. All the trucks you see are filled with rice. This is the campaign office of Honourable Kennedy Agyapong in the Ashanti Region where we are offloading the rice,” the man identified asNana Akufo Addo narrated in the video.

Kennedy Agyapong came second in the NPP’s special delegates election on August 26, 2023, behind Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. The aim of the special delegates election was to reduce the number of flagbearer hopefuls from 10 to five.

This distribution of rice by Kennedy Agyapong is being seen as a voting buying scheme. It has been reported that trucks loaded with bags of rice are being distributed across the country to delegates.

In the viral video that was shared on social media, by one of the supporters expressed his gratitude towards Kennedy Agyapong, stating that he wouldn’t have come around without him.

He also emphasized the importance of electing a presidential candidate who has created employment opportunities.

A man named Mr. Bimfo, who is a coordinator of Kennedy Agyapong, was also seen in the video, making rounds at the campaign office.

It remains to be seen how this gesture will influence the upcoming national delegates conference and the selection of the party’s flagbearer for the 2024 elections.
