Two of the MPs dispkaying their cooking skills
The Members of Parliament (MPs) in the Kwahu area in the Eastern Region took part in a cooking competition during Christmas.
The interesting event, which took place at Kwahu-Brukuwa and organized by the Eastern Regional Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Jeffery Konadu, brought together the lawmakers- Bryan Acheampong, Abetifi; Seth Acheampong and John Osei Frimpong of Abirim; Eric Kwakye Darfour, the Regional Minister, who is MP for Nkawkaw and Emmanuel Atta Snr, Mpreaso District Chief Executive (MCE), who represented the MP for the area.
The competition was part of the annual “Bliss on the Hills” which was introduced by Bryan Acheampong, deputy minister in-charge of National Security.
The lawmakers were each given an hour by the judges led by Nana Adwoa Gyamfua III, Paramount Queen mother. The other judges were the two sub- queen mothers of the Kwahu Traditional Council.
After the successful competition, Bryan Acheampong, under whose jurisdiction the event took place, was declared the winner by a panel of three judges.
He managed to cook Omo tuo and Nkate–Bee is not quite common in many homes.
The Mpreaso DCE also won the second position after preparing “Mpotompoto” while Mr. Darfour, who prepared vegetable stew and yam and the MP for Abirim placed third and four respectively.
The contestants were given special packages.
Nana Adwoa Gyamfua III, the paramount queen mother of the Kwahu Traditional Area, advised the gathering to eat balanced diets.
“You must drink more water, take in less sugar, eat breakfast, fruits and vegetables, exercise and have enough rest.
Prior to the cooking competition, a large number of people took part in a health walk dubbed, “Walk with Bryan Acheampong” from Nkawkaw to Kwahu Obo.
