The Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, Samuel Abu Jinapor, has held talks with Ashanti Regional Security Chiefs.
Mr Jinapor met the Security chiefs on Thursday, March 25, 2021.
The meeting was held behind closed doors at the official residence of the Ashanti Regional Minister, Simon Osei-Mensah.
In attendance at the meeting were police officers, army officers, officials of National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) and the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS).
Heading the regional security team in the discussion was Mr Osei-Mensah.
Briefing the media after the meeting, Mr Jinapor revealed that the discussions centred on lands and natural resources of Ghana and how to protect them.
He stated that there were talks on how to deal with illegal logging and mining in the Ashanti Region.
According to him, the discussions were fruitful.
On his part, Mr Osei-Mensah said the regional security assured the Ministry and Government of their cooperation in protecting the environment in the Ashanti Region.
