Legon Hosts GNPC Ghana Fastest Last Open Qualifier

The University of Ghana Stadium, Legon, is set to host the GNPC Ghana Fastest Human race last open qualifier.

Scheduled for this Saturday, the Accra meet will attract athletes from the Eastern and Volta regions.

Already, 197 have qualified from other regions awaiting winners of the Legon meet, who will battle for supremacy in the national final on September 7.

Thereafter, four athletes will be selected for an all-expenses-paid sponsorship package into the GNPC Speedster Club.

The Managing Director of GCB, Anselm Ray Sowah, is expected to grace the event.

The Founder of GNPC Ghana’s Fastest, Human Reks Brobby, in a telephone interview, stated that all is set “for the final before the final. We have visited the venue, Legon, and l can say it is in good condition for the meet. 

“Our special guest, Anselm Ray Sowah, one of our sponsors, has confirmed his attendance. The athletes have invested by way of rehearsals; we are only waiting for the day and expecting the very best from the combatants.”

GNPC, Moringa King, Adidas, GCB, Indomie Instant Noodles, Wrenco Printing, Kriate Lync Advertising Company and Global Media Alliance are sponsors of the event.

The Ghana’s Fastest Human Race, birthed in 2013, is geared towards reviving short distance athletics in schools, as well as raising athletes for the 2020 Olympics.
