Mahama Begs For Unity In NDC

Former President John Dramani Mahama

Former President John Dramani Mahama is urging the newly elected executives of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to foster unity ahead of the 2024 General.

According to the two-term defeated Presidential Candidate, the upcoming polls will be “the most critical elections with the highest stakes”.

Speaking after the swearing-in of the newly elected national executives, he charged winners to be measured in their celebration.

The former President said there is enough room for everyone in the party to contribute their quota, adding that no one would be sidelined and that they should not feel disappointed.

“For those who were elected, we must be gracious in victory and for those who have lost, let us understand that there is a lot of room under the umbrella for everybody,” he said.

On the executives, he insisted it behooves the ranks and file of the party to “listen” to the delegates.

“Some people say ‘Fear Delegates’ but I believe that the delegates have the best wisdom and they have spoken and told us what they want and we must work with the blueprint that they have given us”.

“These gentlemen and women here have been elected by the delegates to serve a mandate till 2026″.

He, therefore charged them to reach out to losers and involve them in whatever processes they embark upon.

This celebration must be very short. We must cut it short and get to work immediately. As I said, we are all the winners”.
