Section of the NPP supporters who took part in the health walk
Bernard Antwi Boasiako, aka Wontumi, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has said past government officials in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration involved in corrupt practices will soon be prosecuted.
Wontumi was addressing hundreds of NPP supporters in Kumasi yesterday during a rally to climax a mammoth health walk organized by the NPP in the Asawase Constituency.
“Every government official during the ex-President John Mahama NDC regime that will be found culpable for engaging in corruption will be jailed soon. The NPP government is aware that Ghanaians abhor all forms of corruption and they want us to deal with past corrupt officials and we shall do just that”, he stated.
The health walk saw hundreds of NPP supporters from all over the region clad in red, white and blue colours of the NPP strolling to Asawase. According to Wontumi, the huge patronage of the health walk was a clear indication that the NPP would wrest all the three NDC seats in the region in 2020.
“The NPP will forcibly take the Ejura Sekyeredumase, Sekyere Afram Plains and Asawase seats that are being held by the NDC in 2020”, he said.
Wontumi said he would personally work to ensure that ex-President Mahama and the NDC never sit on the presidential throne of the country again.
He stated that President Akufo-Addo had exposed Ghanaians to good governance, for which reason the citizenry would not allow the NDC come back to power again.
Wontumi was of the view that better policies like the free Senior High School (SHS) had improved the lives of the masses so nobody would vote for the NDC in 2020.
