Mahama Goofs Over Payloader To Transport DRIP Machines

Former President John Dramani Mahama has been mocked on social media for his apparent ignorance of the functionality of a payloader, a type of heavy equipment used in construction and not for transportation.

During a campaign tour in the Bono Region, former President John Mahama in a haste to criticize the government’s District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP) initiative, said that the transportation of the equipment to the various districts was poorly managed.

He argued that the government should have provided “payloaders” to transport the machinery, rather than using substandard methods.

However, social media users were quick to point out that a payloader is not capable of transporting a truck, which is what John Mahama seemed to be suggesting but lowbed trailers.

The hashtag #MahamaGoofed has been trending on social media, with many users sharing memes and jokes about Mahama’s apparent mistake.

This is not the first time former President John Mahama has been mocked on social media for his apparent ignorance of certain issues.

In the past, he has been criticized for his comments on issues such as technology and innovation.

John Mahama’s criticism of the DRIP initiative has been seen as an attempt to score political points, but his apparent ignorance of the functionality of a payloader has made him the subject of ridicule on social media.

The DRIP initiative, launched by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo this year, aims to empower Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies (MMDAs) with resources to maintain and improve roads across the country.

Mahama’s directive to NDC supporters to destroy posters of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia on the DRIP machines has also been widely condemned, leading to chaos in some of the beneficiary communities.

Mahama has quickly forgotten that his images were used in the bus branding saga.

The DRIP initiative includes a comprehensive fleet of 2,240 pieces of equipment, including motor graders, backhoes, rollers, wheel loaders, bulldozers, tipper trucks, concrete mixers, water tankers, and low beds.

These machines are expected to play a crucial role in the nationwide improvement of road infrastructure.
However John Mahama’s criticism of the initiative has been seen as an attempt to politicize the issue and score cheap points.
