‘Mahama Will Bring Hardship’

Samira Bawumia

FORMER PRESIDENT Mahama has nothing to offer to develop the country so the electorates should vote against him and the National Democratic Congress (NDC), according to Samira Bawumia, the Second Lady.

Speaking during the inauguration of the Ashanti Regional New Patriotic Party (NPP) Women’s Wing Campaign Team, the Second Lady said a vote for the NDC would lead to unimaginable hardship, problems and abject poverty.

According to her, the country was on the brink of total collapse following the mismanagement by the John Mahama-led NDC administration, and luckily God brought President Akufo-Addo in 2016 to save the country.

Incompetent Mahama

She said apart from incompetence, which had been the normal traits of John Mahama and the top members of the NDC, the largest opposition political party does not possess any qualities that could help to transform the country.

Mrs. Bawumia therefore cautioned the electorates not to repeat the mistake of 2008, when the NDC won political power and used their incompetence to destroy the gains chalked by ex-President Kufuor’s administration.

“A vote for the NDC, and in particular John Mahama, will be an endorsement of the country’s retrogression, because all the gains that President Akufo-Addo has worked hard to secure for the country will be wiped away by the NDC.”

Issues Dumsor Warning

Samira sternly cautioned that any mistake to return the NDC into power would result in the country returning to the gloomy days of erratic power supply, popularly known as ‘Dumsor’, which collapsed a lot of local businesses.

“Any NDC government any day or time, will surely bring back Dumsor, that we all hate, because they (NDC) don’t have the competence needed to ensure constant power supply,” she said, attracting wild applause from the crowd.

The Second Lady said the major gains chalked under the NPP government in all sectors of the country did not happen by chance “they came about because we have the men, who have knowledge to lead Ghana into prosperity.”

Vote Round Two

According to her, President Akufo-Addo and Dr. Bawumia have worked hard within just four years to prove that indeed they are the best pair to lead the country so the electorates should vote for the NPP.

Samira said the NPP government had managed to construct a firm foundation for instant transformation of the country so as to ensure better living for the masses therefore the electorates should retain the NPP in power.

She said “election is not about a certain individual and his or her personal interest, but it is about the person, that has the commitment and passion and is ready to display competence to ensure rapid national transformation.”

Sounding very confident, the Second Lady said Ghanaians had seen and experienced the splendid works of the NPP administration so far, therefore she was hopeful that the NPP would secure a resounding first round electoral victory.

“By the grace of God, the NPP is winning the elections and we shall win with a higher margin of votes,” Samira stated, adding that the party members and sympathizers, especially the women, should campaign for the party.

Kate Gyamfuah

The NPP National Women Organizer, Kate Gyamfuah, on her part, said majority of voters in the country were women, therefore she was expecting women to lead the NPP’s expectant electoral victory on December 7, 2020.

According to her, most of the NPP’s social intervention programmes such the famous free Senior High School (SHS) policy has favoured women the most, “so women should jealously protect political power for the NPP.”

Nana Ama Ampomah

The Ashanti Regional NPP Women Organizer, Nana Ama Ampomah, sternly warned the party members to do away with bickering and rather unite and campaign to increase the party’s votes across the country.
