Dr. Cassiel Ato Baah Forson
Ghana’s Finance Minister, Dr. Cassiel Ato Baah Forson, has announced that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government is taking steps to revitalize the country’s economy.
Speaking during the 2025 budget reading in parliament, Dr. Forson explained that the budget provisions were informed by the National Economic Dialogue, which focused on resetting Ghana’s economy.
He stated, “Through this consensus-building dialogue, the people demanded decisive action and real solutions to the severe challenges facing our country.”
Dr. Forson added that the 2025 budget reflects the aspirations, health needs, and concerns expressed by Ghanaians during the government’s broad consultations.
Prior to the budget, the government engaged with traders at major markets, including the Makola Market, to listen to their concerns.
Dr. Forson expressed optimism about President Mahama’s commitment to reform and transformation, saying, “We are lucky to have a president who has chosen the path of reform and transformation. He will fix the economy, restore hope, and lead us in building the Ghana we want together.”
