Selorm Alugbedey
A homosexual answered the call of a gay partner only to be met with a homophobic attack resulting in serious injury.
That was the fate of Selorm Alugbedey last Sunday night when he set out to meet his gay partner, Koby Jones, at the MadinaZongo Junction in Accra.
Earlier, Koby had been arrested by a vigilante Anti-LGBTQ group who had sworn to wipe out gay and lesbians from Accra communities.
Sources say the group had subjected Kobyto torture and beatings until he revealed the name of his permanent partner, Selorm.
It was revealed that Koby lured his partner through a phone call by pretending to have a serious matter to discuss with him.
Selorm showed up at the agreed spot only to be pounced on by the group, whose leader is the dreaded Abu Maiyaki.
The two were beaten to pulp and endured torture until the intervention of bus drivers in the vicinity allowed their escape.
It was gathered that one of the victims dashed toward the Madina Estate end of the Junction while the other took the Adentaroute.
