A director of the Melcom Group presents the items to a NADMO official
THE MELCOM Group of Companies has donated food, drinks and water to residents of Apiate in the Western Region who were recently displaced by a dynamite explosion.
According to directors of the Melcom Group of Companies said they were greatly touched by the news of the devastation suffered by the people of Apiate and therefore decided to present them with the gifts as the company’s contribution to the support the government of Ghana was providing to residents.
Godwin Avenorgbor, Director of Communications, Melcom Group of Companies, highlighted, “To learn about the destruction of a whole community where residents had to seek refuge in the bushes for safety was for us to say the least, a very troubling development which demands all hands on deck to alleviate the suffering of the people.
“As we express our condolences to the bereaved families and wish the injured speedy recovery, we are convinced that the immediate thing to do in order to avoid any more loss of life to those directly affected by the disaster is to provide food, drinks and water even as we give consideration to other forms of help as the community may require in the next few weeks.”

The Group appealed to other institutions which are capable of providing a helping hand in this difficult time to rise to the occasion and give whatever they can to support the relief effort.
