Youth & Sports Minister Isaac Kwame Asiamah has ended his tour and inspection at the Youth Resource Centre construction site at Yendi in the Northern Region.
The minister, together with his delegation, paid a courtesy call on the Overlord of Yendi, Ya-Na Abukari Mahama II, at the Gbewaa Palace.
After a warm welcome by the Overlord and the natives of Yendi, all was set for the sector minister to visit and inspect the construction of ongoing multi-purpose youth centre.
Mr. Asiamah lauded the good work done by the engineer at the site and his entire workforce for a good job done.
“I am very much impressed, your dedication and willingness towards this project is one that cannot be overlooked on any day,” the minister said.
The proposed 5,000 capacity seater centre would have eight to 12 washrooms at stands A, B, C and VIP respectively and can feature over 25 different sporting disciplines just as the nine other preparatory resource centres.
The minister stated that the Akufo-Addo administration would do everything in its capacity to improve the grassroots by the provision of the needed infrastructure for youth and sports development.
The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Yendi, Hammed Abubakari Yussif, thanked the sector minister for making it possible for such a project to take place in their municipality.
He promised that the place would help in the nursing of talents and make the best available for national duties.
“Yendi has produced great talents such as the legendary Black Stars goalkeeper Abubakari Damba. I know for sure that the provision of this site will go a long way to harness talents for our country,” the MCE told journalists.
